Simple tutorial explaining the thought process involved to clear a player of cheating

Sith came to us placing a replay of his game play up for review because during this game he skill level according to him was exceptional. (I was part of that game) He then began to doubt himself and it played on his mind that during that game because the stats revealed 17 kills he felt that his ability may have been caused due to flaws or glitches in the game he may have accidentally/deliberately exploited.

He also had that feeling and I know I'm guilty of it to look at stats of a player that out of the blue produced an awesome result and you sit there going BS. Mind you that didn't even cross my mind in this case but Sith rasied the issue and had concerns.

Making a post that none of us knew was coming with a heading along the lines of "Sith accused of cheating". Then going on to explain that he wanted us to double check the replay. Everyone looked at the replay and deemed him to be clean as a whistle.

This was a great chance to give a tutorial and allow other members to see first hand a way in which we look at replays and make decisions about players that are cheating or more importantly clear a player of accusations.

I then took this chance to give a very simplistic thought process to what goes on and methods used to view replays and in game data slowly eliminating problem areas. Remember this was just a very simple image/written demo of my thoughts and how involved it is to view replays.

Viewing replays is very serious and any mistake could tarnish a players name but in this case Sith made us all proud with his fair play and ethics to his gaming.

I hope that you all understand that this is a very simple thought and view process but in reality this whole viewing of replays is a very complex and demanding role which we at RC.com take very seriously. Many player don't understand just how we go about and what's involved along with many cases the hours placed into ensuring that a player is cleared of using cheats or game flaws. Then sadly rather than having a result to clean player we have the task to in fact deem a player is using cheats.
